W.E.C. Engineers, Inc. developed a customized Geographic Information System (GIS) and executive management system for a dynamic cellular communications company. Owning and managing several hundred communications towers, the company experienced rapid growth and needed a way to organize and manage data related to the tower sites.

This project included integrating multiple databases, file formats and computer software. The customized graphic user interfaces allowed the user to "drill down" through all available information for a particular cell tower.  As a result, the GIS provided the client with an information management tool and an extermely powerful marketing application.

Engineering drawings such as the site building floor plan, the tower antenna configuration, electrical schematics and the site plan were automatically integrated into the ArcView projects. Users could also access site photographs and a surveillance video on the site as well as lease documents and other text files. A map and directions to each site were also added to the project so that maintenance crews and potential customers did not waste time trying to find a particular site.
