W.E.C. Engineers, Inc. has completed several complex highway design projects that required railroad track relocations of which the most noteworthy was L. R. 1015, the Volkswagen project. It included the relocation study, final design and contract bid documents for approximately one mile of relocated trackage. The relocation was complicated because of conflicts with a major stream and a full highway interchange.
W.E.C. completed a major effort on the High Speed Inter-City Rail Project. The Contractor engaged W.E.C. as a sub-consultant to provide alignment and structure design related services. W.E.C. prepared alignment studies and also developed all designs and cost estimates for the structures.
W.E.C.’s staff experience includes:
Development of the track alignment
Design criteria for the High Speed Rail Feasibility Study
Development of the rapid transit operations plan
Assistance in development of the construction sequencing for the reconstruction of the Frankford Elevation
